But, before playing against the Aussie main team, Pakistan has already played against Cricket Australia XI and the match consisted of three days where the Green Shirts beat them easily.

Australia elected to bat at Brisbane Test

The Shaheens played against Aussie total 59 long format matches till now and lost 28 matches where won only 14 of them. Though, most of the Test series were hosted at the home ground of Australia and Pakistan last played against them at Pakistan in 1998. Since 2009, team Pakistan could not arrange any tournament at their home venue due to political contradiction. The mutiny started while playing a tournament against Sri Lanka in 2009, then a terrorist attack was held. Due to the reason, any major team did not agree to visit Pakistan but the situation will change soon hopefully.

However, though Pakistan did not arrange any home tournament at their home venue, but they are using United Arab Emirates as their home arena since then. Last time Aussie played against Pakistan in 2014 and the series was hosted at UAE where Pakistan beat them by 2 – 0. But however, Pakistan yet to win any Test series in Australia against them. So, this time, they are desperate to do it.

Besides, team Australia and the Green Shirts are almost in same platform. Australia lost last two Test series consecutively against Sri Lanka and South Africa where Pakistan also lost their last Test series against New Zealand. So, both teams will try hard to win the series.

According to the last reports, the first Test has already started at the Gabba, Brisbane where Australia is now on the bat. Ian Gould and Richard Illingworth are the two English umpire. Till now, the host has scored 158 runs by losing three wickets where Mohammad Amir, Yasir Shah and Wahab Riaz have taken a wicket each.

Besides, this tournament consists of three Test and five ODI matches. 2nd Test will be staged on 26th December at Melbourne and 3rd Test will be grounded on 3rd January, 2017 at Sydney.
