Afghanistan won by 6 wickets

If we consider the Zimbabwe cricket team, they are older than Afghanistan. But their recent performance is so poor. Though, considering the ODI status, both are almost same ranked team no doubt.

The tour of Zimbabwe started in February, 2018 when they started to visit United Arab Emirates. They already played a T20 series against the local team Afghanistan. Zimbabwe faced the series defeat there by 2 – 0. Now, they are playing ODI series against the same team.

The 3rd ODI between them staged in 13th February, 2018. It was a day/ night match which was staged at the same ground of Sharjah. In the match, Afghanistan lost the toss and came to bowl first. Like the 2nd match, Zimbabwe thought to present a big score in front of Afghanistan but they did not success this time. But also they faced a batting problem and getting all out so earlier. They only managed to play 34.3 overs and in the meantime, they lost all wickets and scored 154 runs so far. Their top scorer Craig Ervine scored 39 runs only. He faced much balls than runs. Besides, opponent bowler Rashid Khan once again destroyed the batting line up of Zimbabwe who took five wickets in 8.3 overs. He checked much runs. In his bowling figure, he gave 24 runs so far.

So, facing such poor target Afghanistan started to bat well. They simply dominated the Zimbabwe bowlers and took the victory in 27.3 overs. They also lost four wickets where Rahmat Shah scored 56 runs highest in 52 balls. Tendai Chatara took only two wickets for Zimbabwe. So, Afghanistan won the match by six wickets. Rashid Khan took the man of the match award due to his destructive bowling spell.
