Adelaide Strikers managed 3rd victory in BBL

In the ongoing season of Big Bash League, a franchise participant named Adelaide Strikers is in great form and currently standing in 2nd position on the BBL point table. Due to sponsoring reason, Big Bash League is also known as KFC Big Bash which has crossed six seasons successfully and now, it is the 7th season that is going on. In the last match of the 3rd round of BBL 2017/18, Adelaide Strikers played against Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers managed 3rd victory in BBL. As a result, they are promoted to the 2nd position on the point table now where the 1st position is grabbed by current champion of BBL Perth Scorchers.

However, in the last meeting between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat, Brisbane Heat lost by 56 runs. It was the 4th match of Brisbane Heat and they just managed two victory and so, they are in 5th position on the point table.

The match took place in 31st December, 2017 which was also a day/ night competition where Adelaide Strikers won the toss and decided to bat first. Basically, considering the previous matches of the competition in the season, toss winning team used to decide to bowl first but in that case to decide bat was a wise decision which was proved later. Strikers scored 147 runs by losing seven wickets in selected 20 overs. Michael Neser was the highest scorer for Strikers who scored 40 runs and remained not out. However, came to chase the runs, Brisbane Heat got packet by scoring just 91 runs in 16.2 overs. So, Adelaide Strikers won by 56 runs.

Openers of Adelaide Strikers did not do much better but basically most of the players got runs. So, by team effort, they did able to present a handsome score in front of Heat. The scorers of Adelaide Strikers were Weatherald who scored 20 runs, Ingram scored 23 runs, Lehmann scored 22 runs and Neser scored 40 runs highest for the team. Rest players added few runs to the scoreboard. On the other side, Lalor took three wickets and Yasir Shah took two wickets for Heat.

By chasing 147 runs target, Brisbane Heat failed to make a good head start. In 8 runs their opening partnership was broken and in 15 runs, they lost four wickets so far. So, they lost the match back then but rest players did try a bit but could not take control of the match. Gannon scored highest 23 runs for the team. They got all out in 91 runs where Strikers used total seven bowlers and five of them got one wicket at least.
