Candice Falzon, the wife of cricketer David Warner, has apologized to Sonny Bill Williams after local fans’ taunts during Australia’s tour of South Africa earlier this year, reports Stuff.co.nz.

Some South African fans wore masks of Williams’ face in an attempt to take a jibe at Warner during the the second Test match in Port Elizabeth, held between March 9-13.

To make things worse, a couple of Cricket South Africa executives, Clive Eksteen and Altaaf Kazi, were spotted happily posing alongside the masked fans.

“I finally received a weak apology from Cricket South Africa. I realised they’re the ones to feel ashamed, not me,” Candice told The Australian Women’s Weekly.

“I’d like to extend that apology to Sonny Bill. He’s a husband and father, so imagine how his wife would feel and his kids,” the 33-year-old ironwoman added.

For those unaware as to what had happened between Candice and Williams back in 2007, the duo bonded at a party following which their love quickly escalated to the men’s bathroom – an incident which later came to be known as ‘toilet tryst’.

“It’s been 11 years since that happened, it’s time to put it to rest and get on with things that matter,” Candice said.

Williams, a Kiwi rugby player-turned-professional boxer, has been married to model Alana Raffie and the couple has two daughters together.
