Islamabad United won against Lahore through super over

Islamabad United is one of the top franchise team in Pakistan Super League and they already touched the glorious title of PSL once. They won the inaugural title of it. Now, in the 3rd edition of PSL, they have come with their amazing looks. Though, they lost couple of matches out there in the season but in last match, luck was with them. Islamabad United won against Lahore through super over in their last match.

So, through the victory, they won two matches in the season and moved one step ahead to the next round. On the other side, their opponent Lahore Qalandars are passing worst time in the season. They played total five matches but failed to manage a single victory.

In the last match which was the 12th match of the season of Pakistan Super League, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United faced against each other. The match was taken place in 2nd March, 2018 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bowl first in the match. So, Islamabad United came to bat by did not make any handsome total. They finished their innings scoring 121 runs. They lost nine wickets where JP Duminy scored highest 34 runs in 36 balls. Yasir Shah took three wickets highest for Lahore. So, chasing 121 runs should be easy for Qalandars but they faced batting disaster. Due to luck, they also finished their innings scoring 121 runs and lost all wickets. They played total 19.4 overs where Agha Salman scored 48 runs highest for Lahore. Samit Patel took three wickets in exchange for 17 runs.

So, the match finished with tie and there was no other way but they had to play super over in the match. It means each team played one over and the winner was decided. Islamabad United was the winner of the match through the super over.

Basically the opening partnership of Ronchi and Farhan was not good. In 0 runs opener Ronchi was gone. Later, Farhan scored 6 runs so far. Duminy played a bit good and added 34 runs individually. Asif Ali, Russell and Talat scored 16, 15 and 33 runs respectively. Due to failure of their top orders Islamabad United finished their innings scoring 121 runs only.

On the other hand, just two players of Lahore Qalandars played well which were McCullum and Agha Salman where McCullum scored 34 runs and Salman scored 48 runs so far. Rest players failed to touch two figure runs there.
