Australia scored 351 runs in 1st innings

Team Australia has recently finished a tri nation series which was known as Trans Tasman Tri Series. In the tournament, along with Australia, New Zealand and England took part. Australia won the series by defeating New Zealand in final. Now, they are travelling South Africa where they will play four long format matches. However, Australia already started the first Test against South Africa and as stated by the latest news, Australia scored 351 runs in 1st innings at Durban.

On the other side, team South Africa also is in international schedule where earlier they finished a dual series against India at their home venue. In the competition, Proteas faced a ODI and a T20I series defeat against Men in Blue. But though they won Test series against India earlier.

The first match between South Africa and Australia started in 1st March, 2018 at Kingsmead Cricket Ground, Durban. In the match, Australia came to bat by winning the toss. They did play complete first day in the match and before the 1st session of the second day, they lost all wickets and inn the meantime, team Australia able to score total 351 runs. They played total 110.4 overs where Mitchell Marsh scored highest 96 runs. He played 173 balls and it seems that he played actual Test there. On the other side, Keshav Maharaj took highest five wickets for Proteas.

Bancroft and Warner started the innings for Australia in the 1st day. But their partnership did not help the team much. In 15 runs Bancroft was gone with individual 5 runs. Later, Warner and Khawaja tried a bit but in 39 runs Khawaja was gone as well. Captain Smith came up and joined with Warner and both of them added more than 50 runs to the scoreboard. Warner was gone with 51 runs so far. Smith and Shaun Marsh played a bit well where Smith seen a 55 runs and Marsh scored 40 runs so far. Later, Mitchel Marsh and Paine made another partnership where Mitchel Marsh went close to a century but unfortunately scored 96 runs and got out. Paine scored 25 runs. Among rest players, Starc scored 35 runs and Lyon scored 12 runs so far. Almost all players scored a bit but failed to make a long innings except couple of players. So, in 351 runs Australia lost all wickets so far.

Philander took three wickets, Rabada took two wickets and rest five wickets were taken by Maharaj for South Africa.
