Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 8 wickets

In the new year 2018, Bangladesh Cricket Board or BCB arranged a tri nation series which consists of ODI matches. In the series with host nation Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe were taken part. Considering the schedule the opening match of the tournament was hosted in 15th January, 2018 where Zimbabwe and Bangladesh faced against each other. In the match, Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 8 wickets.

The whole tournament consisted of six group stage matches and after that two top teams will get qualified for the final. So, every match was so important for all teams. The opening match between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh was hosted at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka where earlier in 15th January, 2018 team Bangladesh won the toss and they knew much about their field nature and so, they taken to field first. It was quite a good decision. Mashrafe Mortaza was the ODI captain of Bangladesh as well as he is very wise captain. Blessing Muzarabani for team Zimbabwe made his ODI debut through the match. Zimbabwe played total 49 ovars where they came to bat first. They scored 170 runs and getting all out. Sikandar Raza was the highest scorer for the team who scored 52 runs by facing 99 balls. FOr the Tigers, Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets by bowling ten ovars. In return, the Tigers came to chase 170 runs milestone and losing two wickets they reached the destination. Tamim Iqbal was one opener and played till the last. He remained unbeaten with highest 84 runs for the team. Again Sikandar Raza took two wickets for Zimbabwe. So, team Bangladesh won by 8 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan was declared as the player of the match finally.

Masakadza and Mire started the innings for guest team. But in 2 runs opener Mire was gone with 0 runs. At the same time 2nd wicket Ervine was gone with 0 run. Later, Taylor came to join with Masakadza and added only 28 runs jointly when Masakadza was gone as well. Since then team Zimbabwe started to lose wicket regularly. Taylor scored 24 runs where Raza scored 52 runs for the team. Rest players added few more runs like Morr scored 33 runs and captain Cremer scored 12 runs only. Finally in 49 overs, they lost all wickets when they scored only 170 runs. Nowadays, 170 runs in ODI is so mere and easy to chase and team Bangladesh did their job well.
