However, so team England has no more choice left but to secure their innings they had to bat all fifth day at Perth. But, they could not do so and as a result, they faced defeat by a innings and 41 runs.

In the 2nd innings, Cook and Stoneman started Aussie innings. But, in 4 runs Stoneman was gone by Hazlewood and in 29 runs Cook was gone. In both case Hazlewood took the wickets. Later, Vince and skipper Root tried to make a long lasting bond where Root just scored 14 runs. Later Malan came up and finished the 4th day with Vince quite successfully. Both of them made half century each and it seemed that they could finish the 5th day. But no. They did not able to do so. Vince was gone with 55 runs and Malan was gone with 54 runs so far.

Basically, in 5th day, the ground of Perth was turned to the bowling favoured and for batsmen there were not much. It was too hard to settle on the wicket and got runs. So, after Vince and Malan were gone, even Bairstow who scored century earlier could not stand for long. Last six wickets were gone within very short time. No one did able to score significant runs. They just layed 72.5 overs and scored 218 runs in 2nd innings. Australia did not need to bat for the 2nd innings and so, they won by a innings and 41 runs. Once again Hazlewood proved himself as worthy member of team Australia and took highest five wickets. Besides, Starc took one and Cummins and Lyon took two wickets each for cricket Australia. Steven Smith was announced as the player of the match due to his brilliant double century. The 4th match between them will start in 26th December, 2017 at Melbourne.
