The Rugby World Cup final between England and Australia was still a few hours away, but the excitement of the all-important contest was quite evident on cricketer’s James Anderson’s face.

In a video shared by the England Cricket Board on Instagram, England’s cricket captain Joe Root can be seen recording a good luck message for their rugby counterparts, when Anderson – seemingly in rugby mode already – tackled him to the floor.

Luckily, the duo fell on the cricket kits in the dressing room, thus evading any injury scare.

“Lads, just want to wish you all the very best of luck for the final on behalf of all the England cricket boys,” Root can be heard saying. “We’re desperate to see you beat Australia in Australia. Very best of luck.”

Meanwhile, England will look to square the Ashes when they take on Australia in the second Test, slated to start on Saturday in Adelaide.

The hosts had won the opening rubber by 10 wickets in Brisbane.
