Peter Nevill, Steve O’Keefe fight hard to save the team. But in the end, they did not save. Australia was defeated to Sri Lanka in the first test of the series. In the meantime, Neville and O’Keefe build low-run rate record partnership. Scored just 4 runs from 178 balls. Their run rate was 0.13!

Sri Lanka won the series by 106 runs and ahead the series by 1-0.

At Pallekele, Australia was batted on 268 runs target. But without Steven Smith, no one can’t play. Steven Smith scored 56 runs. The visitors lost their hope to win the match or a drawn. But O’Keefe-Neville partnership gave visitors hope for a drawn. The 7th and number 10th batsman scored just 9 runs from 178 balls.  At the end, Neville scored 9 runs from 115 balls and O’Keefe scored 4 runs from 98 balls. Those 4 runs also come from a boundary. The pair broke the record of South African Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers.  On last December South African two-star scored 27 runs from 253 against India with a run-rate of 0.64.

Third record partnership for New Zealand’s Harris and Richardson. They made 16 runs from 125 balls, with 0.76 run rate. This record also comes against India at 2002. The fourth record partnership is 14 runs from 100 balls. Zimbabwe’s Campbell-Heath Streak made that against New Zealand at 2000. Run rate was .84.

AB de Villiers and Kyle Abbott has the 5th record slowest partnership. This pair scored 27 runs from 177 balls with .91 run rate.
