Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq believes that in spite of the country’s recent comedown at the Asia Cup – where they failed to make the summit clash – the team is competent to change their fortunes and go all the way at the upcoming World T20.

In an interview with PakPassion, the 41-year-old Misbah opined that rather than lamenting an early exit from the Asia Cup, the tournament should be seen as an ideal tune-up heading into the sport’s mega event, which is scheduled to begin from March 8 in India.

“Despite the disappointing results in the recently concluded Asia Cup tournament, I do believe that Pakistan have a good chance of going all the way in the World Twenty20,” said Misbah, who hung up his boots from ODI cricket following the World Cup 2015.

Hailing an apposite itinerary ahead of the World T20, Misbah added: “The timing of the Asia Cup before the World T20 is ideal for the simple fact that the Pakistan team gets a good chance to play and get some good match practice ahead of this competition.”

“I have always maintained that our team has great potential and excellent chances to win the World T20, especially as it is being played in the sub-continent,” he opined.
