India have won 8 off their last 9 Twenty20 Internationals including a 3-0 drubbing of Australia in Australia. One of the main reasons behind India’s recent success in the shortest format of the game has been the return of Ashish Nehra.

The left-arm fast-bowler has been swinging the ball as good as ever and has continually succeeded in getting the early breakthroughs for his team. Impressed by his comeback to the side, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has rich words of praise for Nehra.

“I am very happy for Nehra,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz. “They (selectors) picked him and gave him chances in T20Is because he deserves that. The way he has come back, he is the asset for the Indian team. He will bowl three overs with the new ball and one over in death – he’s reliable, economical and he can bowl anywhere.

‘Nehra Better Than Zaheer’

Furthermore, Sehwag also rated his Delhi teammate above Zaheer Khan, who is widely regarded as India’s greatest fast-bowler in the last decade.

“I rate him higher than Zaheer Khan in ODIs and T20s,” he stated. “Because of the kind of pace he generates, the kind of line and length he can bowl, the yorkers he can bowl.”
