4th Test of Ashes finished with draw

Team Australia has already secured the ongoing Ashes series by winning first three matches. Now, they have recently finished the 4th Test of Ashes which was started in 26th December, 2017. 4th Test of Ashes finished with draw. The 4th Test was taken place at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne where team Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. They were not in pressure in the match, because they already won the series after long time. The previous trophy holder was England but this time, Cricket Australia secured the title.

So, in 4th match, Australia came to bat where in the first innings, they scored 327 runs by losing all wickets. They played total 119 overs. David Warner scored highest 103 runs for Australia. On the other hand, England came to bat for the first innings. They scored 491 runs in their 1st innings and lost all wickets. They played 144.1 overs. Their player Alastair Cook scored highest 244 runs and remained not out. So, they led few runs in the first innings and so, Australia came to bat for the 2nd innings and scored 263 runs by losing four wickets. In the meantime, they played 124.2 overs. Skipper Steven Smith scored a brilliant century in the match. They declared their innings back then and finally the match finished with no result.

Bancroft and Warner started the innings for Australia for the first time. Their opening partnership was good and added 122 runs before broken. Bancroft was gone with 26 runs but Warner scored 103 runs. Basically among the rest player, Smith and Marsh played with responsibility. Smith scored 76 runs and Marsh scored 61 runs for the team Australia. So, finally their 1st innings finished with 327 runs. They played the whole first day and sometimes in the 2nd day. Broad took highest four wickets and Anderson took three wickets for team England.

Later, English team came to bat for the first innings with Cook and Stoneman where Cook remained not out which means he played with all ten players in the innings. He scored 244 runs highest where his best companion was captain Root who scored 61 runs so far. Besides, Broad scored 56 runs also for the team. Cummins took four wickets highest where Hazlewood and Lyon took three wickets each.

Later, team Australia came to bat for the second innings where by losing four wickets they scored 263 runs. Now, at the end of the 4th Test, Cricket Australia leads the series by 3 – 0. The last Test will start in 4th January, 2018 and Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney will host the match.
