South Africa salvaged pride by winning the third and final T20I against series-winners West Indies in Durban on Wednesday.

Earlier, the hosts had won the toss and decided to bat first. Riding on a 70-ball 114 from opener Morne Van Wyk, South Africa amassed 195-3 in 20 overs.

In response, the visitors squandered a strong start from Lendl Simmons (49) to eventually get all-out for a paltry 126, 69 runs short of their opponents.

“It is a massive victory. We owe it to ourselves,” said winning skipper Justin Ontong, as quoted by CricBuzz. “West Indies came hard at us, but proud of the way the boys played.”

With this, West Indies clinch the T20 series 2-1 and the action now moves on to the 5-match One-Day International format between the two teams.
