Veteran fast-bowler, Dale Steyn, exhibited a tremendous bowling performance to help South Africa pull off a colossal win over West Indies in the first of the 3-match Test series at the Super Sport Park in Centurion on Saturday.

Earlier, skipper Hashim Amla (208), AB de Villiers (152) and Stiaan van Zyl (101*) helped South Africa put up a massive score of 552-5 in the first innings.

In response, the West Indies batsmen had no clue to the South African bowling unit. Thanks to Vernon Philander (4/29) and Morne Morkel (3/55), the hosts could enforce follow-on by bundling out their oppositions for 201 runs in the first essay.

In the second innings, the visitors repeated the slip-ups as they succumbed to a lethal bowling performance from Dale Steyn (6/34), eventually getting all-out for a paltry 131-run total, to lose the match by an innings and 220 runs.

Up next, the two teams lock horns in the second Test match that is scheduled to start from December 26 at Port Elizabeth.
