13 Teams ODI League!!

International Cricket Council (ICC) is going to bring major changes to the 50-over format of the game. . Earlier this month, a proposal will be a mention in a meeting of the game’s governing body. At the end of the tournament, the league’s top two teams will play the final.

If this proposal is implemented, from Bangladesh to Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Ireland will have the opportunity to play against the big teams like Australia, South Africa and India.

Currently 12 teams are on ICC ODI teams ranking. 10 countries where there as full member. Afghanistan and Ireland are the rest of the two teams.

Now the question is: Who will be the 13th team? 2015-17 World Cricket League title winners will be the 13th team in the tournament. In this second level, one-day tournament, Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea is currently playing.

This league may be World Cup qualification round as well. League last team may relegate from the world cup.

Countries will be able to play three more matches in the series. However, only 3 match will be counted for league. Women’s cricket has already introduced such process.

Meanwhile, new bi-level test policy will be discussed of the ICC meeting as well. According to the seven best teams will play test among them. The next five teams will play among themselves. The best team will promoted to the best 7. In addition, the seventh team will relegate. The International Cricket Council meeting will be held in Edinburgh at the end of this month.
