If his latest sparring session is anything to go by, Manny Pacquiao is not very far from his best.

The Filipino boxing legend is scheduled to trade punches with Argentina’s Lucas Matthysse for the WBA welterweight title in Kuala Lumpur come July 15.

And, he looked in top shape as he battered different oppositions during practice.

As can be seen in the photos shared by Boxingscene, Pacquiao had most of his opponents on the ropes, while some bore the brunt of his brute power.

Meanwhile, the fight is expected to go on as scheduled after rumours of postponement surfaced due to financial concerns.

However, in a recent interview with The Standard, Pacquiao cleared the air over. “As far as I am concerned, everything is fine,” the 39-year-old southpaw said.

“Lucas Matthysse and I are getting ready to give the fans their money’s worth and July 15 will be huge for boxing in Malaysia.”

Should Pacquiao win, it will be his 60th triumph in the paid ranks (he’s 59-7-2 at the moment). A victory for Matthysse (39-4-0) would be his 40th.
