Cristiano Ronaldo’s ripped physique is much appreciated by his fans. And, Anthony Joshua is no exception.

The British boxing superstar believes that if Ronaldo were ever to fight arch-rival Lionel Messi in a boxing contest, the former would emerge victorious.

“Messi’s got that ruggedness but Ronaldo looks like he’s got the Bruce Lee bang,” Joshua told COPA90.

“You know what I mean, just stand there and lick you with one hook and you’re finished. Messi seems a bit more like his name — messy and rugged,” he added.

Joshua, who stunned ex-heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko to extend his unbeaten record to 19-0 (all knockouts) and have the IBF, IBO and WBA world titles in his possession, went a step ahead, saying he derives inspiration from Ronaldo.

“For the first three years (in professional boxing), I was managing, managing, marketing and marketing.

“But now I’m at a stage where I’ve just said I’ve done that, now I want to focus on being the best boxer then I get the inspiration from Ronaldo.

“I was speaking to (Ronaldo’s former teammate Rio) Ferdinand who said he was the only one in the team back then who had masseuses, nutritionists, psychologists, so he had that desire.”

When asked which footballer would he square off against in the boxing ring, the 27-year-old Joshua picked Yaya Toure.
