18 days after being knocked out by Oleksandr Gvozdyk, veteran Canadian boxer Adonis Stevenson has reportedly come out of coma.

On December 1, Stevenson, 41, was leading on the cards in Quebec City before his Ukrainian opponent floored him in the 11th round. And although he got back to his feet post the stoppage, he lost consciousness in the locker room before being rushed to hospital.

According to reports, he suffered from severe traumatic brain injury and slipped into coma.

In a huge relief for his fans and boxing fraternity alike, Stevenson has come out of coma, according to a report by AllBoxing.ru.

He opened his eyes and spoke with his family, even as the right side of his body remains paralysed, the report added.

Now, that’s one way of justifying the ‘Superman’ moniker!
