Jeff Horn and Terence Crawford were involved in a battle before the battle as they engaged in a staring contest ahead of their welterweight fight for the WBO belt in Las Vegas on Saturday.

During the final press conference, the duo went head-to-head for a staredown… and guess what? They got into a game of no-blinking, which lasted for a good few seconds before they exchanged some words.

“He was just saying to me, ‘Are you ready?’” Horn later told FightHype. “I was like ‘Yup, I’m ready, are you ready?’ And he’s like ‘Hell yeah, I’m ready.’ I just found it entertaining, to be honest. They were trying to get in my head.”

Who ‘won’ the staring contest, by the way? Well, it was Crawford. But, Horn reveals he had a reason to ‘lose’.

“I turned away for a brief second to look at the cameras. And their whole crowd and crew [were] like ‘Oh, he’s won’. I don’t want to be staring at him all day. It was a pretty long starting, I don’t want to be staring at him for too long.

Did his eyes water? “No, the eyes didn’t water.,” Horn said. “But, I was like I have got a goal, I can’t be drying my throat at the moment being here in Vegas.

“I don’t want to think I’m scared of him but I’m like I have to go pee. I’m not intimidated by him at all.”
