Jermall Charlo (27-0, 21 KOs) has blasted ‘trash-talking’ Billy Joe Saunders (26-0, 12 KOs) as he claimed that he would ‘easily take up the fight’ with the WBO middleweight champion.

Saunders is scheduled make the fourth defense of his world title against fellow Brit Martin Murray (36-4, 17 KOs) at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London, come June 23.

“For sure, I would love to fight him,” Charlo told On The Ropes (via BoxingNews24). “The fact that he talks a lot of s**t. It would make the fight a lot better, because you all know what I do to people that run their mouth like he does.”

The six-footer American, who holds the interim WBC middleweight belt, further questioned Saunders’s mobility as he insisted that the latter knows nothing besides running.

“Billy Joe Saunders is a complete trash of a fighter to me. I haven’t seen anything that stands out about him other than he knows how to run,” Charlo said.

“Stylistically, he’s not slick enough. He doesn’t bring any real threat to me. I’ll easily take that fight. I would definitely fight him. Politics are involved.”

Meanwhile, Charlo is also in talks of a mega fight with IBO, IBF, WBA and WBC champion Gennady Golovkin. The negotiations are still under way though.
