Super middleweight prospect Vijender Singh’s (9-0, 7 KOs) tenth professional boxing bout is likely to be held at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on December 23.

According to a report by Sportsstarlive, although the opponent has not been finalized yet, an official announcement is expected to be made on Monday.

“We are working on the final nitty gritty’s and we are working for some WBO sanctions to come in, that’s why there is a delay in announcement,” Vijender’s promoter Neerav Tomar was quoted as saying.

“Nothing is finalised yet on the opponent. Things are in the pipeline.”

It was earlier announced that Vijender – who prevailed over China’s Zulpikar Maimaitiali in a close bout to add the WBO Oriental belt to his WBO Asia-Pacific title in August – would trade punches with Britain’s Rocky Fielding for the Commonwealth crown.

But, Fielding announced on his official Twitter handle that he won’t pursue the fight.
