Former undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield feels that Anthony Joshua holds an edge over Deontay Wilder.

Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) stunned former kingpin Wladimir Klitschko in April and now holds the IBF, IBO and WBA belts. He is next scheduled to take on mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev come October 28.

Like Joshua, Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) too is unbeaten and is next slated to fight on November 4 against Luis Ortiz. However, the fight is in doubt after Ortiz failed a drug test.

Should Joshua and Wilder breeze past their respective adversaries, a unification bout is likely to happen next year.

“I do think Joshua does have the edge,” Holyfield, 54, was quoted as saying by The Sun.

“Because he’s the more complete fighter, but it all depends upon how they fight on the night,” he continued.

“You are only as good as your last fight. Anthony was knocked down hard by Wladimir Klitschko and he was hurt. But came back and showed heart.”
